We’ve got two new coffees available at all of our locations now – the Holiday Blend and the Guatemalan Fundraiser. Both are only available until December 31st, so come in while they’re still here!
The Holiday Blend is a blend of our Colombian, Mexican and Ethiopian Harrar coffees. This is a limited time blend that combines coffees of several roast degrees in the spirit of coming together around the Holidays. It features a little something for everyone, with the sweet, nutty and fruity character of our medium roasts in harmony with the toasty and spicy qualities of our darks.
Tasting Notes: Bittersweet Chocolate, Roasted Nuts, Peaty
For this year’s Growers’ Project we have selected two microlots that originate from the highest two altitude ranges harvested by CODECH in Huehuetenango. The blend has a little more roasted nut and cocoa flavour than our regular Guatemalan and features a microlot that one of our baristas used in the final round of the 2012 Canadian Barista Championship! When you purchase this blend of Guatemalan microlots we will donate $2 to growers of CODECH for their Cupping Lab Project in Guatemala. The project will allow the coop to purchase basic but essential coffee lab equipment, for example, a stove, coffee brewer, screen sorter, moisture meter, cupping table, glassware, and scales. They will also recruit a member from each cooperative community to be trained as a cupper and will bring in a cupping consultant experienced in quality improvement to train them.
Tasting Notes: Roasted Cocoa, Dark Honey, Floral
